SHADE MATCHING
At Advance Dental Care, we like our
patients to visit the laboratory so that the
technician making the crowns,
bridges or
veneers can actually
see you the patient and perfectly match the
shade for your new smile.
The technician, by seeing you personally,
can also get an idea of the shape of your
face and of your lip lines which all affect
the final outcome of your new smile.

DENTURES |
|
DENTURES
Dentures can be simple acrylic
or quite complicated metal dentures
with tooth coloured or gold clasps.
Dentures can be construced that are
attached to the teeth, either side of
the gap by attachments on the denture
that slot into either crowns or inlays
on the teeth either side of the gap.
These are precision attached dentures.
Full dentures can be made which have
life like teeth and gum work, which
make them appear very natural. For additional
retention suction cups can be used in
the dentures. Dentures have their limitations,
but they can provide good aesthetics
and function in a relatively cheap way.
They can affect the taste (particularly
if the palate is fully covered) and
some patients complain of a metallic
taste with metal dentures. If not properly
constructed, partial dentures in particular
can cause the gums to strip back off
the teeth and can lead to decay on the
remaining teeth. Oral hygiene must e
good and regular inspections are recommended.
